Preparation for Stripping
Preparation for stripping is a very time-consuming, and critical step.
All windows, fiberglass, brite-work, engine inlets, actuators and all other openings in the aircraft must be wrapped with chemical-resistant foil and tape to prevent any chemical damage.
Foil tape is extended onto the aluminum at least 3” past the point where any plastic begins, and over door and baggage compartment openings to ensure that no chemicals leach onto the plastic or door gaskets.
